Visual art has been a
prime interest of mine since a young age, however, I did not become
passionate about photography until my late 20's. In my earlier days
as an art student I spent a lot of time studying various forms of
art and using different mediums. I attended art classes from
elementary school through to university and my interest mostly
focused on drawings and paintings of buildings, landscapes, people
and still life.
After university I
found less and less time to devote to my artwork due to its time
consuming nature and thought I had to put my creative trait on hold
indefinitely. Fortunately an idea came to mind and it pointed to
photography. Like art with a paint brush, photography
requires a good sense of style, technique and execution. I quickly
became comfortable with my new tools and continued to experiment and
practice every chance I got.
These days I continue
to fuel my obsession with photography by exploring new subjects and
places, studying the work of others, and expanding on my own
technique. Later in life I may well open my old box full of art
supplies and start drawing and painting again, but for now I am
quite happy creating art with my light box, a lens, and imaging
software.

Many know that
photography is an intricate endeavour by a broad array of
practitioners. What we consider as decent art may be subject to
criticism by others. Many photographers sometimes overstate their
assertions about art, technicalities, and the symbolism of an
image. In general, my approach is often quite simple and
straightforward. I try to capture interesting scenes and make them
as aesthetically beautiful as possible. Art doesn't always have to
be complicated to be visually pleasing. The essential idea is to
follow our senses, use our own imagination and express ourselves
through our work.
